作品介紹:This is the first time we have made our own sword fittings in Taiwan. Designed by Paul Chen, the fittings and maki-e were handmade by my sister Julia Chen .The blade is forged Tamahagane using a special heat treatment, which enhances the toughness of the spine of the blade three times more than the traditional heat treat. The hamon is a unique pattern that emulates reeds blowing in the wind, like the maki-e on the saya.
I have chosen the Zen concept of Dharma to be the theme of the sword, I believe it merges perfectly with the Japanese Bushido spirit, which reinforces humility and attention to detail. This year we have prepared ten for this series, of those one is a special edition with silver fittings. This will be presented at the 2017 Blade Show this June |
